Always finding the best sources.
I'm currently the Science and Technology reporter at KPBS in San Diego. My job is pretty great. I make science fun and interesting for the average person.
Before this gig, I was the Emerging Voices Reporter at Nashville Public Radio, where I told stories about underserved populations and added their voices to the airwaves! On the side I was also the co-host and producer of a weekly radio show in DC for WPFW 89.3 FM. It's called School of Thought and is about higher education, social justice, and art.
I was also the associate editor at Education Dive, a publication focused on the B2B higher education landscape. When I'm not being a journalist, I'm probably being a music or space nerd. I interned at the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum and was research assistant for a Georgetown University environmental historian of Outer Space.
I'm a Jackson, MS native and southerner at heart, so I've got a sweet spot for the tradition of audio storytelling. As a radio journalist, I am always on the hunt for interesting sound that can make wonky topics fun and accessible. I'm all about diversity and equity in environmental justice and education.
